The Cries of a Nation

Just came back from Himpunan Hijau 2.0. Tired and emotional, you bet. But here is the thing.

Just what this assembly means to you and I?

Like previous protests and rallies, it means the nation is crying out. She and her inhabitants are in dire distress because of incompetent leaders and bad decision makings. It means that we are starting to realize that our voice matters after all, that we cannot sit back and say "nothing is wrong" anymore.

But I'm disappointed. Today the rally was meant to be for the people of Kuantan and Malaysia. But as you might have expected, it was politicized. Today, many jumped on the bandwagon because everyone is doing it.

What is the point then?

Politicizing and promising things only tells us the mentality of our politicians. The mentality of two children, fighting for a toy. Just because your leader says Lynas is good, doesn't mean it's all good. And just because you need people's votes, doesn't mean you can promise anything and attending these rallies to show their "support". You know you want something in return.

Bandwagon. Just because everyone is on it, doesn't mean you HAVE to ride it. If you don't know what you're supporting, what is the point then?

Stop politicizing matters. Stop jumping on bandwagons. This is a cause to support, NOT an opportunity for lobbying. This is a cause of concern, NOT a place to have fun.

The cry of this nation is simple. We want leaders who walk their talks and not forked tongue elite politicians. We want our voices to be heard.

STOP LYNAS
SAVE MALAYSIA
