So we're in 2012 now! It hasn't really struck me that hard yet but I think it's time for a change in mentality, attitude and behaviour. Like how I've seen a lot of people seeing how pointless new year resolutions can be (since we all don't really do it even if we have the capacity to do so).
Therefore *clears throat with a loud AHEM*, I shall announce no resolutions this year... apart from trimming my bush (hair), and some fats from my body. LOL!
Anyway, I've received and been blessed by yesterday's message. So indeed, the past is gone and let us not dwell on the things of the past. You know, the past can be a real pain in the you-know-where. It makes you cry, it makes you suffer and cuddle yourself at night in depressing thoughts... well, if your past is bad la.
I want to start anew... Perhaps first by changing some of my habits and sharpening a useful skill. A great man once told me that you will need at least ONE skill that no one is good at to survive in this world. This may or may not be true but I choose to believe that. I have come to a realization that many things that I'm good at will not do me any... well, good, when I am in the industry. One and a half years ain't that long. But it ain't that long either, so I shall begin sharpening at least ONE skill out of these two:
1) Photography/Cinematography
2) Editing
I am not really a camera guy nor a person who is crazily fanatic about photography but I will enjoy it nonetheless. If possible, I'll master both. That will be like the ultimate holy matrimony of skill sets.
Writing has always been my passion but my standard is just not up to notch. Music has always been an important part of my life but I'm not as talented as people make me out to be. Compared to many other pianist and keyboardist that I know, I'm not even 1/5 of their talents. But everything results from hard work. I've slacked too much in my piano to regain any of my mojo back. I still love to play it but only for leisure purposes. *wink
Like many peeps that I know, we all hope that 2012 will be a better year for us. At least, it should be different. I pray that it will be so. Let's strive for a better year ahead!
p/s: I don't buy that the world will end this year, like how many have interpreted from the Mayan calendar. So if you're with me in this, kindly join the event of "2013 I'm still living" page in Facebook!
p/ps:You have nothing to lose! If the world survives, we can poke fun to those who believed it. If the world ends, oh bummer, nobody would care anyway. Everybody will only be interested in their survival if that happens!
